Sound absorption:
ASTM C423-09a and E795, NRC 1.00 on the standard hood (Riverbank report RAL-A14-253). Tested on a one inch, 6 pcf fiberglass panel using Mounting E-400, with an airspace behind the specimen.
Sound transmission:
ASTM E90-09. Standard hood STC 5. Hood with 1 lb septum STC 26 (Riverbank report RAL-TL14-388).
Surface burning:
ASTM E84-05, tested on a one inch fiberglass panel of the hood material: Flame Spread Index 15, Smoke Developed Value 5, against Class A thresholds of 25 and 450 (SGS U.S. Testing report 530217). The Spirit Acoustics specification states compliance with the International Building Code and with the National Electrical Code for installation over lighting fixtures.
