A Speech Guard System ceiling overlay kit sized for a 12′ x 12′ private office with a 2′ x 4′ ceiling tile grid, built with a 1lb septum.

The septum adds mass to the assembly, which is what separates this kit from the standard build. Mass is what blocks low frequency energy, so this is the kit for rooms sitting under or beside mechanical equipment, where the problem is not only overheard conversation but the rumble carried through the ceiling from HVAC and rooftop plant.

Premium speech privacy is the appropriate target for spaces where confidential conversation happens routinely: HR suites, executive offices, legal departments, and clinical rooms. That is a meaningfully higher bar than the standard privacy most office construction delivers.

In most commercial buildings, partition walls stop at the ceiling grid rather than continuing to the deck above. That leaves the shared plenum as the main route for both speech and equipment noise to travel between rooms, through ceiling tiles, recessed light fixtures, and open air return grilles.
